Improved email repeat
prescription serviceOur
email ordering process for repeat
prescriptions has been running since
August 2005, and has been well received
by its users over this time. In
response to patient feedback, we have
introduced some changes which will both
improve the way we handle your requests,
and also improve security. We have
also changed the email address back to
its original howdenmedical.co.uk
address.
The main
difference you will notice is the
receipt of a confirmation message when
you send an email. We have also
changed the way the messages are
subsequently handled which will reduce
the number of unsuccessful emails.
Unfortunately, the commonest reason for
a blocked message remains virus
contamination from it's owner's PC.
Changes to our Duty Doctor
System
We have made
some changes to our Duty Doctor system
at the practice recently. The Duty
Doctor will now be offering more
appointments every day for urgent
medical problems. Previously this
doctor was also involved with a lot of
telephone advice for patients, but this
type of service will now be passed to
patients' usual GPs on a daily basis.
We ask that
patients respect the role of our Duty
Doctor, and only use these appointments
for genuinely urgent medical conditions.
Car parking
problems
We share parking facilities with St
John's Hospital, and as a result there
is a high demand for places within the
car park. This can often cause
delays for patients arriving at the
Howden Health Centre for appointments,
especially at the peak times (10-12am
and 2-4pm). We recommend that if
you plan to travel by car, leave plenty
of time to find a place before your
appointment time. It can sometimes
take up to 20 minutes to find a free
space!
