 Howden
says farewell to Dr Hennessey
The
practice bade a fond farewell to Dr Christina Hennessey at the
end of March. Dr Hennessey has decided to leave to work in
London, after 8 years as a General Practitioner for her patients
in Livingston. She was sent on her way with a presentation
on her last day of work, followed by a celebratory
meal in a local restaurant. We wish her all the best for
the next stage in her career.
New Howden GP, Dr Nadine McCool,
starts in April
Dr Nadine
McCool will take up her post as a new GP at Howden on the 20th
of April. She will be taking over Dr Hennessey's list of
patients, and will be working 3/4 time, 4 days a week.
Howden introduces Extended hours
appointments from April 2009
From early
April, the practice will be offering additional appointments
outside normal practice opening times. Appointments will
be available for patients to book in advance, and will be
available in the early evening on Tuesdays , and one or two
early mornings each week. These appointments are for
routine medical problems, and are particularly intended for
patients who struggle to come to other appointments during
office hours.
NHS 24
will continue to provide emergency medical advice and care
between 6pm and 8am weekdays, and all weekends.
Car parking
problems
We share parking facilities with St
John's Hospital, and as a result there
is a high demand for places within the
car park. This can often cause
delays for patients arriving at the
Howden Health Centre for appointments,
especially at the peak times (10-12am
and 2-4pm). We recommend that if
you plan to travel by car, leave plenty
of time to find a place before your
appointment time. It can sometimes
take up to 20 minutes to find a free
space!
